Spain’s most profitable funds attract €581m net inflows

The ten most profitable Spanish funds have attracted over €581m in net inflows through the end of August, according to data from VDOS.

The Latin America-focused fund of Spanish asset manager Renta 4 Gestora recorded returns of 28.36% as at 26 August. Despite being the most profitable Spanish fund, Renta 4 Latinoamerica, with €1.9m in AUM, had just €355,000 net inflows in the first eight months of the year.

Merchbank’s balanced fund Merch Oportunidades, with €4m in AUM, was the second most profitable Spanish fund with a return of 27.48%. It recorded €234,000 net inflows.

Sabadell’s America Latina Bolsa, exposed to Latin America equities, was the third most profitable fund with 24.26% return. Bansabadell Inversion fund, with €17.8m in AUM, had €15.8m net inflows through August.

European equities fund Azvalor Internacional had the largest net inflows during the period, attracting €558.9m. The €803.2m fund of Azvalor Asset Management recorded a return of 19.12% by the end of August.

BBVA’s €20m Bolsa Latam fund, investing in Latin America equities, had €794,000 net outflows despite its 19.80% return. Renta 4 Gestora’s Algar Global fund had also €3bn net outflows, and the balanced fund’s AUM stood at €20.4bn.
