Candriam’s Bart Goosens to consider systematic approach at Stockholm Forum
Bart Goosens, global head of Quantitative Equity Management at Candriam Investors Group, will share views on a systematic approach to US and global equity selection, when taking part in the Fund Selector Forum Sweden on 7 May.
Candriam, formerly known as Dexia Asset Mangement, has sought to automate fundamental analysis, designing tailor-made, bottom-up stock selection models for each sector. Teh output of these models are implemented via the US and global equity portfolios.
Also offered are SRI versions of the funds, which relies on a dedicated team of eight SRI analysts considering a range of environmental, social and governance issues.
Goosens, who has been working in the asset management industry for 19 years, joined Dexia Asset Management (now Candriam) in 1997 as an equity fund manager/financial analyst. While managing several international equity funds, he developed a series of quantitative equity models used to help manage Candriam’s fundamental equity funds. In 2001, he formed the Quantitative Equity Management team that he still heads today. Together with his team Goosens designs, maintains and implements systematic stock selection strategies. These are applied to a range of regional and global equity funds. Prior to joining Candriam, Goosens worked for Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan. Bart Goosens received his Master of Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp.
