Companies still focused on emissions reductions, Nordic CDP 2012 finds
The latest Nordic Carbon Disclosure Project report, produced on behalf of 655 investors representing $78trn in assets, suggests that companies in the Nordic region remain committed to emission reductions linked to climate change policies.
This key finding comes despite concerns that companies may find it tempting to ignore their commitments in this area as they struggle with other concerns, such as macroeconomic uncertainty.
However, in context of risk analysis the CDP report authors state that this is less surprising, as much of the focus is on long term risk factors, which remain.
The report tracks the responses of a large proportion of the Nordic region’s biggest companies – some of whom are global sector leaders – and their actions intended to reduce the impacts of climate change.
