Net sales of mutual funds domiciled in Finland hit €1.5bn in February, according to data published by Investment Research Finland.

Together with market gains of some €2bn, this helped push total assets to a new record of €92.5bn.

Piia-Noora Kauppi, managing director of the Federation of Finnish Financial Services, said an increasing number of Finns are investing in mutual funds.

“Over one million individual investors hold shares in mutual funds and they have an easy access to fund with relatively small monthly investments. Households are the largest investor group. They hold mutual fund share directly and indirectly through life insurance and pension funds.”
