Finnish group names head of Responsible Investment

Helsinki-headquartered financial group S-Bank (S-Pankki in Finnish) has named Mika Leskinen as the head of Responsible Investment of its asset management branch FIM at the start of August, the firm announced.

A renowned figure of responsible investment in Finland, Leskinen formerly worked in a similar role at institutional asset manager OP-Pohjola group. He stayed over 12 years with the OP-Pohjola group, having served as head of International Equities and Sustainable Investing at Pohjola Asset Management among others.

Leskinen also chairs the board of Finsif, Finland’s sustainable investment forum since January 2018.

“The importance of responsible investment in all investment activities will grow further. I see S-Pankki’s huge potential and I am excited about the fact that the bank is present in the daily life of three million customers, because this opens up new opportunities to build a more prosperous future, together with the Finnish population,” Mika Leskinen said.

S-Bank had also appointed Lea Jääskeläinen last June as head of FIM’s institutional clients, joining from Danske Bank where she held roles in institutional sales management positions.
