Fund investments up over July in Sweden

Latest statistics from the Swedish Investment Fund Association (Fondbolagens förening) point to a net increase in savings into funds during July, primarily into equity and bond funds.

The increase comes after two months of net redemptions recorded by the industry. Redemptions were still recorded for money market and balanced funds.

Year-to-date, some SEK14bn of net investments have been made into the funds represented by the Association, of which SEK11bn have gone into bond funds.

The Association said that the increased investments during July occurred as the local stock market increased in value. It noted that investments were particularly directed towards Sweden equity funds, which attracted a net SEK1.7bn over the month.
