Ignis Asset Management’s Joanna Howley to discuss alpha strategies in Helsinki

Joanna Howley, Rates Team investment strategist for Ignis Asset Management, will discuss the generation of alpha from government bonds at the Fund Selector Roundtable in Helsinki on 29 April 2014.

In an economic environment which continues to be dominated by low growth, macro concerns and market volatility, the prospects for long-only gobal government bonds are limited. Investors are therefore aiming to adjust risk via alpha strategies which dampen the volatility and diversify their portfolio.

Joanna Howley will present the Ignis Absolute Return Government Bond Fund as an example of such a strategy. Since its launch in March 2011, the bond has delivered strong risk-adjusted returns. She will outline how the team’s macro-economic views are applied as carefully constructed positions across government bond and currency markets.

Howley currently works with clients investing in global absolute return strategies, she has over 15 years of industry experience and has previously worked as managing director at Blackrock and rates fund manager at Merrill Lynch.
