Industrivärden appoints new CEO

Industrivärden, the listed investment company established by Sweden’s Handelsbanken in 1944, has announced the appointment of Helena Stjernholm as its new president and CEO.

Stjernholm takes up the position having previously been a partner in private equity firm IK Investment Partners, where she has been responsible for its Stockholm office and a member of IK’s executive committee. She joined IK in 1998, and previously worked as a consultant for Bain & Company.

Industrivärden board chairman Fredrik Lundberg said: “It is a great pleasure for us to bring in Helena Stjernholm, who has considerable knowledge and experience in asset management, active ownership, company development and company transactions. Helena is well suited for the task of leading the business and further developing Industrivärden’s role as an engaged owner for long-term value creation.”

Industrivärden’s portfolio includes key stakes in core Swedish financials, industrials and supermarkets, including Handelsbanken, SCA, Volvo, Ericsson, ICA Gruppen, Skanska and SSAB.

The portfolio value was over SEK87bn (€9bn) as of 30 June.
