Lantern Structured Asset Management launches on Sweden’s PPM platform
Three funds have been registered by UBS subsidiary Lantern Structured Asset Management for distribution via the PPM platform for selecting funds for third tier investments under Sweden’s pension system.
The funds are: Independent Fonddoktorn Plus, Independent Aktiv Mix, and Independent Aktiv Max. All three are balanced funds are invested in foreign equities and bonds. The benchmark used for the funds is 50% Citi WGBI / 50% MSCI World.
According to other information provided by Pensionsmyndigheten, the Swedish Pensions Agency that is responsible for providing PPM information, the Independent Fonddoktorn Plus focuses on emerging markets in regions that are judged to have the best long term growth potential. The fund is able to overweight up to 150% and underweight by up to 50% in order to manage market volatility. The fund invests in swaps in order to gain exposure to different equity markets.
Detailed information on the Independent Aktiv Mix and Aktiv Max funds is not provided as yet.
Lantern Structured Asset Management is a wholly owned subsidiary of UBS AG, which specialises in the management of funds domiciled in Ireland. Two other funds launched in May and June this year are also offered to the Swedish market currently – Valbay Core and Valbay Global – according to LSAM’s website. The manager offers both Ucits and non-Uctis funds to various European markets.
