Maria Rengefors new chairman of Swedish Investment Fund Association

Maria Rengefors, Nordea Fonder, has been elected chairman of the Swedish Investment Fund Association while Carl Cederschiöld, Handelsbanken Fonder, has been elected deputy chairman, the Association has announced.

Rengefors, who joined the board in 2013, and previously was deputy chairman, is chief executive of Nordea Fonder, where she writes a regular blog about funds and issues facing fund investors in Sweden (https://www.nordea.com/sv/press-och-nyheter/nyheter-och-pressmeddelanden/Maria-Rengefors/ ). She replaces Peter Branner of SEB Investment Management, previous chairman who has been on the board since 2011, and who remains as an ordinary board member.

Cederschiöld has been on the board since 2016. Also appointed as a new board member is Åsa Wallenberg, SPP Fonder. Wallenberg took on the role as head of funds at Norwegian group Storebrand in January this year, when she also became chief executive of SPP Fonder in Sweden. This means she is responsible for Delphi and Storebrand funds as well as SPP funds in Sweden – where it claimed some SEK150bn (€15.5bn) of AUM as of December 2016.
