Michael Fraikin of Invesco Asset Management to speak at Stockholm Forum
Michael Fraikin, head of Portfolio Management for Invesco Global Quantitative Equity Strategies, will be speaking at the InvestmentEurope Fund Selector Forum Sweden, taking place in Stockholm on 25 September.
Fraikin (pictured) is set to explain how investors can obtain both low volatility and high Alpha at the same time.
While the perception may be that higher risk equals higher return has had its day, stocks with lower volatility generate at least equally attractive performance as higher volatility ones, Fraikin suggests.
The potential for an above index performance, with less risk, has led to a surge in interest for low volatility strategy. However, although the interest is growing, few people have actually invested their money in line with this strategy. Fraikin will give an insight into how this can be done better, including the need to look beyond low volatility to identify stocks worth buying.
Fraikin joined Invesco in 1997 as a portfolio manager for European equities. In 1999, he was appointed head of the European Equity Team and in 2000 was named head of Equities in Frankfurt. Prior to joining Invesco he worked as a buy-side analyst at Commerzbank. He has 18 years of investment experience.
