Monthly deficit for Swedish government in June

The Swedish National Debt Office (Riksgälden) reports that central government payments resulted in a deficit of SEK-28.1bn (€-3.25bn) in June – in line with historical trends relating to tax refund payments.

The deficit was SEK2bn lower than the Debt Office previously forecast, which it said is because of slightly higher tax receipts.

Over the 12 months to the end of June 2012 payments data showed a deficit of SEK-26.8bn (€-3.1bn), with overall government debt at SEK1.089trn (€126bn).
