New head announced for Nordea Fonder

Nordic bank Nordea has announced a new head to its Nordea Fonder business, Maria Rengefors, who replaces responsible investment specialist Sasja Beslik.

Beslik, who has held the role since October 2011, is to be replaced by Maria Rengefors on 1 February.

Rengefors (pictured) is currently head of communication and deputy head of Nordea Fonder. The Nordic manager claims to have more than SEK1.6trn (€184bn) in assets under management, making it the biggest local manager in the region by AUM.

Beslik is not leaving Nordea, but instead is to focus on heading up the broader Nordea group’s international business development in the area of responsible investments.

He has been at the forefront of this development within the group since 2009. Beslik, who has previously worked as head of responsible investments at Banco/ABN Amro, said that increasing numbers of domestic and foreign institutional investors are demanding responsible investment solutions.
