Nordea sees another Swedish rate cut by December

Today’s interest rate cut in Sweden is likely to be followed by another in December, according to analysis by Nordea economists.

In this Nordea disagrees with the statement from Sweden’s Riksbank earlier today, in which it said that its new repo rate would stay at 1.25% until the middle of next year.

Torbjörn Isaksson, chief analyst, said that tha while a cut in rates was expected at some point this year, it was not predicted to occurr at this particular time. However, the bank is sticking to its forecast that the Riksbank will lower its repo rate to 1% by December.
