Oliver Bell of T. Rowe Price to cover Middle East and Africa at Stockholm event
Oliver Bell, lead portfolio manager at T. Rowe Price and an expert in frontier markets, is set to share his views on the Middle East and Africa with delegates to the InvestmentEurope Fund Selector Forum taking place in Stockholm on 7 May.
Bell will argue that today’s emerging markets will eventually progress to become part of the developed world, and investors will again begin to look for the next emerging story.
As one of the fastest-growing regions in the world, Africa and Middle East can offer enormous opportunities for investors, Bell says, noting that many African and Middle East markets today are similar to the emerging markets of Asia and Latin America fifteen years ago.
Robust top-down credentials, broad structural changes across the region and the increasing ability of companies to harness growth for profitability are just some of the reasons why he believes that both African and Middle Eastern markets will continue to offer the attractive opportunities for investors.
Bell is the lead portfolio manager and chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee for the T. Rowe Price Middle East & Africa Equity Strategy. He has 16 years of investment experience. Prior to joining the firm in 2011, Bell was head of emerging markets equities research at Pictet Asset Management where his responsibilities included managing several funds, along with a team of analysts.
