Skagen Global hires portfolio manager
Skagen has announced that Tomas Johansson will be joining the Skagen Global team as a portfolio manager on 1st August 2015.
Johansson will report to lead portfolio manager on the fund, Knut Gezelius.
He previously worked for the Swedish arm of Cevian Capital, one of Europe’s largest activist fund managers with over €10bn in assets under management.
In this role, Johansson was part of a team overseeing a concentrated equities portfolio which sought to unlock potential value through active ownership. He joined Cevian in 2008 and has extensive experience across the entire investment process, from idea generation and analysis to company monitoring and engagement.
He holds three master’s degrees: MSc. in Business and Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics; MSc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology; and a Swedish Master of Laws Degree from Stockholm University.
Tomas’s addition to the Skagen Global team will further strengthen its ability to find unpopular, under-researched and undervalued stocks that can deliver the best possible returns for SKAGEN’s clients.
Knut Gezelius, lead portfolio manager of Skagen Global, commented: “On behalf of Skagen Global, it is a real pleasure to welcome our new member to the team. Tomas has impressive credentials and a deep understanding of analysing investment opportunities, two of many attributes that promise to be of benefit to our clients.”
