Sweden awaits GDP uplift
Sweden’s minister for finance Anders Borg is widely tipped later today to raise his forecast for GDP growth through 2011.
Last autumn Borg forecast 2011 growth of 3.7%.
However, it is understood that he is ready to announce a condiderable uplift in that forecast off the back of recent figures showing that Sweden’s economy grew at a record 7.3% in the final quarter of 2010.
Market expectations currently are for growth to hit between 4-5% through the year.
Borg is scheduled to make his announcement at 12.30pm local time in Stockholm.
A webcast of his presentation is available through the Swedish government website: http://www.regeringen.se/sb/d/14490/a/162105
