Sweden’s AP4 appoints new CEO

The board of the Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund (AP4) has appointed Niklas Ekvall as new chief executive officer of AP4.

Succeeding Mats Andresson who will leave on 12 July, Ekvall will take up his new responsibilities on 1 October 2016.

Per Colleen, head of Equities at AP4, will act as interim CEO until Ekvall assumes the position.

Ekvall has held several positions at Nordea, Carnegie and AP3.

The fourth AP Fund is chaired by Sarah McPhee and has a specific focus on climate change and corporate governance.

As of end 2015, AP4’s capital amounted to SEK310bn (€33.2bn).
