Sweden’s Marginalen appoints Fernando Miranda new chief executive

Marginalen Bank, formed in 2010 through the fusion of Finans AB Marginalen, Bank2 and parts of Citibank’s Swedish retail banking operations, has appointed its existing deputy chief executive Fernando Miranda to lead the management team.

Miranda previously was at Citibank. Ewa Glennow continues as chief executive of parent company Marginalen AB, and will principally focus on strategy and business development.

“We want to be an intelligent alternative in the Swedish banking market, with uncomplicated and clear products and services with transparency,” said Miranda.
“We are convinced that this is the right way to go at a time when the banking market is developing in the opposite direction, with ever more complex products and services.”

Marginalen Bank focuses on private and business banking. It is part of the Marginalen Group, which also offers services such as administrative, accounts and invoice processing, and debt collection. It is present across Sweden, as well as in the Netherlands, Latvia and Lithuania.
