Swedish Investment Fund Assocation welcomes Prips proposals
The Swedish Investment Fund Association (Fondbolagens förening) has responded positively to yesterday’s announcement of Prips regulations.
Chief executive Pia Nilsson said today that the proposals will go a long way to enabling fairer comparison of funds, not only with their peers, but also against other types of investment and savings products.
“At last,” she said.
“We have waited a long time for this proposal, which means that consumers will not only be able to compare funds with each other, but also funds with other savings alternatives in a fair and easy way. The EU is starting with funds, structured products and certain insurance [products]. This is a very good start and we would like to see other types of savings encompassed in future – everything from deposit accounts to direct equity investments.”
