Threadneedle to open Stockholm office

Threadneedle Investments is opening a Stockholm office to support growth in the Nordic region, following Swedish regulatory approval of its SICAV funds last autumn.

The office will serve existing institutional clients and enable the company to broaden its client base in Sweden.

Threadneedle said the move reflected its own committment to international busines, but also demand for its funds from the Nordic markets.

Nina Movin, Threadneedle’s Nordics sales director will remain based in Copenhagen.

Swedish sales to fund of funds, platforms, as well as wholesale distribution, will be headed by sales manager Jalil El Khalifi.

Campbell Fleming, Threadneedle’s head of distribution said: “Threadneedle’s funds have received strong interest from institutional clients in Finland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden and we see many opportunities to grow in the region. Investors seeking superior returns will welcome our active and team-led investment approach, which has delivered consistent outperformance in volatile market conditions. Having a presence in Stockholm will enhance our relationships in the market.”
