Barclays Wealth hires five from Lloyds TSB in Geneva
Barclays Wealth has made a significant coup from Lloyds TSB’s international private banking division, taking on five of its Geneva employees.
The bank gains Mike Ferguson as a managing director within its Geneva office, while Sylvie Orsatti, Sana Al-Habal, Philippe Sala and Fawziyah Khazal all move there as director-level private bankers.
All five will ultimately report to Patrick Ramsey, General Manager for Barclays Bank (Suisse) SA and Soha Nashaat, Global Market Leader for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
The changes take place as Barclays Wealth looks to strengthen its business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. As part of those plans, it sees Geneva as a hub for attracting high net worth clientele.
Over 100 new hires have already taken place at the bank this year. Head of International Private Banking at Barclays Wealth Emmanuel Fievet said the bank is ahead of its recruitment plans for the year, but indicated more are likely.
“We will continue selectively to hire people who can best service our global high net worth clients,” he said.
