BlackRock’s Bettoni to speak on investments in emerging markets debt at Lausanne Summit

Ernesto Bettoni, director emerging markets debt for BlackRock Asset Management will speak on the prospects for investments in emerging markets debt at the Pan-European Fund Selector Summit held in Lausanne on 9-11 April 2014.

With historically low interest rates in many developed markets, investors are increasingly turning towards developing markets in order to extend their traditional portfolios and obtain new sources of yield.

However, this may be accompanied by bouts of volatility and fundamental disepersion. Bettoni will argue that in this new era of emerging markets debt investing, new strategies may be necessary. He will present BlackRock’s Flexi Dynamic bond fund, which emphasises flexibility as well as a thematic approach to managing EMD portfolios.

Bettoni joined Blackrock in 2012, he is currently product strategist and director for emerging markets debt. He has responsibility for fundamental global fixed income strategies across all emerging markets. Prior to this position, he was fixed income investment strategist at BNP Paribas, Fortis Investment and ABN AMRO Asset Management. Overall, he has 15 years of experience in emerging markets debt.

InvestmentEurope is delighted to announce the Spring Pan-European Fund Selector Summit, to be held 9-11 April 2014 at the Beau Rivage Palace, Lausanne, Switzerland.
