Carmignac boosts Swiss sales team with hires from BNP Paribas and Fisch AM

Carmignac Gestion has added two sales executives from BNP Paribas Asset Management and Fisch Asset Management to its Swiss sales team.

The firm has been strengthening its local presence in Switzerland ever since recruiting Marco Fiorini as head of professional clients in Switzerland in January 2011. The latest recruits will report to him directly.

Katja Wiechers (pictured) joins from BNP Paribas Asset Management in Vienna, where she held the position of senior sales director.

Alexander Bischoff moves from the sales department of Fisch Asset Management in Zurich, where he was deputy head of Swiss clients.

Both hires will focus on fund distribution through independent financial advisers, family offices, banks, insurance companies and other third party channels.

Founded in 1989, Carmignac manages some €50bn in assets through 18 funds, covering equities, bonds and diversified products, and through discretionary management mandates.

It markets its funds in 11 European countries, including Germany, Spain and the Netherlands. It has two subsidiaries in Luxembourg and Frankfurt, offices in Madrid, Milan and London, and has registered all of its funds intended for professional investors in Singapore.
