Enlarged team to serve independent asset managers at Swiss & Global AM
Swiss & Global Asset Management is stepping up efforts to serve independent asset managers in Switzerland with a dedicated team for this client segment.
Two sales executives, Markus Lienert and Remo Badertscher, have joined the existing Zurich-based Sales unit.
Badertscher has worked in the financial sector for 14 years, most recently as a senior relationship manager at MAN Investments. Prior to that, he spent a number of years at UBS in Switzerland and abroad.
Lienert, who has worked in the sector for 10 years, joins from MAN Investments, where he has looked after independent asset managers and banks in Liechtenstein and Switzerland.
Michele Porro, Head of Sales & Distribution and Member of the Executive Board of Swiss & Global Asset Management, said independent asset managers play a key role in the Swiss financial sector.
“We expect demand for independent financial services to keep growing…Working with them thus makes perfect sense and represents a natural progression of our business. There is scope for collaboration not only in the distribution of our actively managed Julius Baer funds, but also in the area of private labelling.”
Swiss & Global Asset Management emerged from Julius Baer Asset Management in October 2009 and is the exclusive manager of Julius Baer funds. At end September 2012, the firm had client assets under management totalling CHF 87.4 billion.
