Ex-Nestlé alt investment chief sets up consulting firm

The former head of Alternative Investments at Nestlé Capital Management Thierry Ralet has founded a consulting firm in the Swiss city of Zug, Phenix Consulting and Asset Management, InvestmentEurope has learned.

It is understood Ralet is now an independent consultant for pension funds and insurance companies and also make commodities investments.

Ralet spent seven years as alternative investment chief of Switzerland-headquartered food giant Nestlé’s asset management arm, having relinquished his role on 1 December 2017.

A large international overhaul of Nestlé’s investment activities took place last May. Nestlé Capital Management’s team removed from the management of several in-house funds, that was handed over to BlackRock on an interim basis.

This included North American, Asia Pacific and European equity funds as well as global bond and global inflation-linked bond funds.

Ralet was previously chief financial officer of Nestlé Capital Advisers and has been a portfolio manager on tech global company IBM’s pension fund in Brussels.
