Franklin Templeton names Swiss chief

Franklin Templeton Switzerland has appointed Patrick Lutz (pictured) as its new country head, effective 3 July 2017.

Based in Zurich, Lutz will report to Reinhard Berben, senior director, Central Europe, at Franklin Templeton Investments.

He will lead the local sales and marketing teams to further develop the firm’s retail and institutional businesses in Switzerland.

Lutz joined Franklin Templeton in 2008 where he served most recently as Switzerland’s head of Retail Sales.

Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Lutz worked for Schroder & Co. Bank as a sales manager and held roles of fund analyst and portfolio manager at Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB).

Berben commented: “Switzerland is a key European market and we continue to see tremendous growth potential for Franklin Templeton from a retail and institutional perspective. Patrick brings a significant amount of industry experience and strong leadership skills to this new role. I’m looking forward to working closely with him, to further expand our business in this market.”

As of 31 May 2017, Franklin Templeton Investments had $745bn (€662.6bn) in assets under management.
