GAM appoints head of Business France, Benelux and Austria

Swiss manager GAM has appointed Jan Hein Alfrink as head of Business France, Benelux, Monaco and Austria.

He will be leading a team of 4. Alfrink was client director at GAM for Austria, France and Monaco since 2011.

Daniel Durrer, head of Institutional and Fund Distribution, Continental Europe markets at GAM, said that the French asset management market is attractive for GAM regarding the amount of assets under management and the dynamism of French investors.

He added that French investors were clearly looking at active management and absolute return solutions in order to face markets’ volatility.

GAM has CHF124.2bn (€113.7bn) in assets under management as at 30 June 2015, of which investment management business accounts for CHF73.5bn (€67.3bn) and private labelling business for CHF50.7bn (€46.4bn).
