Geneva group names new CIO, head of Asset Management

Geneva-based financial group 1875 Finance has appointed Loïc Schmid as chief investment officer and head of Asset Management.

Currently CIO and responsible for the asset management arm of Swiss firm GS Banque, Schmid will take his new duties as from 1 September 2017.

Prior to that, Schmid has been head of Portfolio Management, deputy CIO and senior vice-president at Sequio Asset Management and has co-founded investment website

He also held roles at Lombard Odier and Banque Benedict Hentsch & Cie.

It is understood Schmid’s responsibilities will also cover fintech solutions serving 1875 Finance’s clients.

1875 Finance currently manages CHF7bn (€6.35bn) of assets.
