InvestmentEurope Pension Fund Forum Zurich kicks off

The InvestmentEurope Pension Fund Forum, held at the Hyatt Hotel in Zurich on 15 May has now kicked off.

The one day event, which is held in German and English, focusses on the impact of tapering and potential cost reductions for pension funds, including speakers from Blackrock, State Street Global Advisers, Polar Capital, RenAsset Management, PIMCO as well as key representatives from Swiss pension funds and Swiss politics.

It was opened by Andreas Valda, chairman of the event and journalist covering economic and federal affairs for the Swiss newspapers Der Bund and Tages-Anzeiger. Valda compared the impact of monetary policies to the rhythm of tides, where flow would necessarily be followed by ebb.

Delegates are currently attending sessions discussing ETF’s, smart beta and convertibles as possible responses to a changing interest rate environment. The coming sessions will be dedicated amongst others to an in-depth debate of the changing legislative environment for Swiss pension funds and possible cost reductions.

InvestmentEurope will be reporting online and via social media on the events as they happen. Stay tuned on Twitter using the hashtag #PFFSWITZERLAND. Additionally, an extensive summary of key discussions will be featured in the next issue of InvestmentEurope.
