La Française partners with Gonet&Cie for fund distribution in Switzerland
Paris-headquartered La Française and Swiss private banking firm Gonet&Cie have signed a partnership for fund distribution in Switzerland, that will be further structured as a joint venture, still subject to regulatory approval.
The new entity will distribute the investment solutions of La Française and its affiliates. Together the companies have plans to develop an offer aiming to suit the requirements of institutional investors in the Middle East, by relying in particular on the presence of Gonet&Cie in Abu Dhabi.
The partnership will also provide an opportunity to examine the creation of a fund invested in Swiss equities, managed by Gonet&Cie, which will rely on the expertise of Inflection Point Capital Management UK, a London-based consultancy firm specialised in strategically aware investing (SAI), an analysis methodology incorporating (in addition to traditional ESG criteria) a company’s capacity for innovation, adaptation and responsiveness.
Philippe Lecomte, CEO of La Française International, said : “Until now, La Française had favoured a centralised system to cover the Swiss market. However, we wanted to find a local partner, which is essential to speed up our expansion considering the specific features – in particular from a regional and regulatory perspective – of the Swiss market. We have found the perfect fit with Gonet&Cie: a strong local player that complements La Française’s expertise in investment solutions.”
Serge Robin, Gonet&Cie partner responsible for asset management, added : “Our collaboration with La Française, a leading player that is fast expanding its asset management business in Europe, forms part of our development and diversification strategy to enhance our profile as a Swiss bank in the long term. Apart from the fact that this partnership enables Gonet&Cie to position itself in relation to certain institutional investors, it also secures a strong convergence of interests and convictions in a fast-growing industry. “
