Ossiam lists ETFs on SIX Swiss Exchange
Ossiam, a provider of specialist exchange traded funds, has listed its ETFs on SIX – Swiss Exchange. These specialist ETFs are based on minimum variance and equal weight investment strategies.
The ETFs were approved by Swiss regulator FINMA for public distribution in Switzerland on November 30, 2011. In Switzerland, the ETFs will be distributed and marketed through Natixis Global Associates, the distribution arm of Natixis Global Asset Management. Ossiam is an affiliate of Natixis Global Asset Management.
Ossiam ETF iSTOXX Europe Minimum Variance NR and Ossiam ETF US Minimum Variance NR track indices designed to capture the equity market performance while mitigating risk.
The indices include stocks where volatility is among the lowest in their respective investment universe and historical correlations among the stocks are sufficiently low to reduce risk, says Ossiam. “Volatility for both indices has been on average 11 percentage points, 1 lower than their market-cap universe of investment (STOXX Europe 600 and S&P 500) since their inception in June 2011. Drawdowns have also been significantly reduced.”
The Ossiam ETF Euro STOXX 50 Equal Weight NR and the Ossiam ETF STOXX Europe 600 Equal Weight ETFs provide investors with diversified exposure to Eurozone and broader European equity markets, preventing a small group of stocks from dominating the indices.
Ossiam’s ETFs were first listed on Deutsche Boerse, the Milan Stock Exchange, NYSE Euronext Paris and the London Stock Exchange in June and July 2011. Ossiam manages $285 million in ETF assets, as at end of November 2011.
