Panel to discuss Swiss Federal Councıl decree on pension funds in Zurich

The InvestmentEurope Pension Fund Forum, which will be held in Zurich on 15 May, will feature a panel of four industry experts discussing the recent decree by the Swiss Federal Council regarding pension funds.

The decree, in Switzerland known as “Abzocker Verordnung” (‘Rip-off’ decree) covers restrictions on levels of allowances at public limited companies.

Key impact of the legislation, which came into force in January 2014, is the oblication to conduct shareholders meetings openly and to subsequently publish the results. This decision affects all companies subject to the Swiss Freizügigkeitsgesetz, in particular Swiss Pension Funds.

Participants of the debate will be Hanspeter Konrad, director of ASIP, the Swiss Association for Pension Funds; Gregor Greber, co-founder and CEO of ZCapital, and independent asset management company; Till Spillmann, Lawyer at Bär & Karrer focussing on shareholder participation at pension funds; as well as Colette Nova, vice director of the Swiss Federal Social Insurance Office.
