Pictet AM names head of Total Return Equities

Pictet Asset Management, the asset management arm of Swiss financial group Pictet, has appointed Doc Horn (pictured) as head of Total Return Equities.

Horn joined the company at the start of July. Based in London, he reports to Philippe de Weck, chief investment officer Equities at Pictet AM.

Horn joins from hedge fund UBS O’Connor where he managed long/short equity funds for 11 years and oversaw investment teams.

At Pictet AM, he will head seven equity long-short teams based in Geneva, London, Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong.

de Weck, CIO Equities, said, “Doc joins a business that is one of the 10 largest UCITS hedge fund managers in Europe and among the region’s top 20 hedge fund managers.* In a low return environment, his appointment reflects our commitment to total return strategies.”

At 30 June 2017, Pictet AM’s total return fund range had assets under management of $7.4bn (€6.37bn) spread across seven long-short strategies.
