Sussex Partners bolsters Swiss advisory team
UK independent advisory firm specialised in alternative investments Sussex Partners has appointed Filippo Montalbano as managing director of the firm’s office in Zurich.
Montalbano joins from Credit Suisse Private Bank where he was a member of the firm’s alternatives investment group since 2008.
Since 2010, Montalbano had been advising clients on single manager hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, the creation of customised portfolios and selection of private equity funds.
Before joining Credit Suisse, Montalbano worked in business development for a $5bn (€4.64trn) Swiss alternative assets management firm, Harcourt Investment Consulting. which was acquired by Vontobel.
Sussex Partners focuses on the identification, evaluation and monitoring of single managers and funds of hedge funds for institutional allocation.
Its process relies on a highly discretionary selection that requires managers to demonstrate four key qualities: consistency, stability, integrity and superior performance across market cycles.
Sussex Partners recommends funds that it identifies to have been the top performers in their respective peer group over a sustained and long term period.
The firm has close advisory relationships with more than 100 institutional investors, constituting in excess of $3.5trn (€3.25trn) of managed assets.
