Switzerland’s EFG Financial Products rolls out structured products platform in UK
Zurich-based EFG Financial Products Group has opened a London branch office of its subsidiary EFG Financial Products (Europe) GmbH, intended to support the distribution of its structured products.
EFG Financial Products Group (EFG) specialises in collateral secured instruments developed by the SIX Swiss Exchange. So-called COSI products work to reduce counterparty risk by depositing collateral in the form of cash or securities.
Structured products issued by EFG are guaranteed by EFG International AG, the private banking group also based in Zurich.
Jan Schoch, EFG chief executive officer, said the move into London would rely on the firm’s own automated structured products platform.
Alex Robinson, London branch manager added: “The UK is following other European countries in increasing the use of derivative based products. The client-focused product and security solutions have been specially designed to offer maximum liquidity, flexibility and transparency. We believe that this combined with our focus on clients’ access to information will meet the needs of the sophisticated British investor.”
EFG’s subsidiary EFG FP (Europe) GmbH is headquartered in Frankfurt with offices in Spain, France and now London. Further regional expansion efforts are planned, the company said.
