Threadneedle’s Jonathan Crown to discuss dividend investing at Lausanne Summit
Jonathan Crown, Fund Manager Global Equities for Threadneedle will join InvestmentEurope’s Pan European Fund Selector Summit in Lausanne on 9-11 April.
In his presentation, Crown will address the growing popularity of dividend investing in a rising interest rate environment. He joined Threadneedle Investments in 2005 as an investment analyst on the credit team, he subsequently moved to the global equities team in 2008. Since 2010, he has been responsible for several global portfolios. In 2011, Crown became deputy manager of the Threadneedle Global Equite Income Fund, he is also deputy head of the financial sector research team.
Investing in dividend paying companies has become increasingly popular as investors begin to appreciate the total return and performance profile of dividend stocks, yet behavioural biases will continue to result in their under-appreciation. According to Crown, companies with effective capital allocation have outperformed in the long run. Based on an overview of stock examples, he will provide arguments against the view that dividend stocks are a bubble. Crown will present his ‘Quality Income’ approach, which focusses on high, growing and sustainable dividends.
Moreover, the presentation will present dividend investing in the context of a changing macroeconomic environment and address how to respond to the challenge of rising interest rates.
