Following the confirmed acquisition of a majority stake in British TwentyFour Asset Management, Swiss Bank Vontobel has now announced plans to acquire Meriten Investment Management, a Germany-based boutique of BNY Mellon.

“Vontobel could execute a possible transaction without tapping into any additional Tier I or Tier II capital” the Swiss Bank confirmed whilst highlighting that all mid-term financial targets, dividend policy included, will remain unchanged.

Based in Düsseldorf, Meriten is the former asset management segment of German WestLB, it has been fully owned by BNY Mellon since 2012. Meriten Investment Management was not available for further comments on the planned acquisition.
