Vontobel launches corporate bond fund

Vontobel Asset Management has launched a new global corporate bond fund, investing in mid-yield bonds with a rating from A+ to BBB-.

The new fund will be managed by Christian Hantel,it is domiciled in Luxembourg, using US dollar as its fund currency, it is available to both institutional and retail investors.

“The focus on global mid-yield allows us to offer a product that captures and preserves value for our investors over time,” says Christian Hantel. “Our flexible investment approach is designed to identify and select corporate bonds where the spread premium more than compensates for the risks taken, giving investors access to the most diversified and liquid credit universe.”

Prior to joining Vontobel Asset Management in 2015, Christian Hantel was the lead manager of Swisscanto’s Global Corporate Bond fund. Before that, he worked as head of Corporate Credit for BNY Mellon Asset Management with performance responsibility for approximately six billion euros in corporate-credit investment grade and crossover mandates.
