Aberdeen Asset veteran seeks new pastures
Chris Ellyatt is leaving Aberdeen Asset Management, where he was global head of business development, to be replaced by a recent recruit from Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, who is returning to Aberdeen.
A spokesman for Aberdeen said the firm was not seeking a direct replacement for Ellyatt, as the firm had recently said John Brett would be joining, from Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, as head of distribution.
At SWIP, Brett was head of sales and marketing.
He will join Aberdeen in November, and will be a well-known face to the some there – he originally worked there, leaving in 2003.
Ellyatt is leaving to pursue other opportunities, the spokesman said.
He joined Aberdeen in 2002, and leaves it “with our best wishes and thanks,” the spokesman said.
“He joined following a career in investment banking, focused mainly upon Asian and emerging markets, predominantly with HSBC and Barclays de Zoete Wedd.”
