Another RDR response: unbundled share class from SLI
The issue of share classes under the UK’s Retail Distribution Review has drawn the decision by Standard Life Investments to launch an unbundled share class.
The class is fully authorised, and available for advised investments made via third party platforms, SLI said.
The typical annual management charge in the class will be 0.75%, or half the 1.5% for existing bundled share classes.
Jacqueline Lowe, Head of UK Wholesale at Standard Life Investments said: “We have been fully supportive of the regulators desire to create transparency vis-à-vis the unbundling of AMCs and have been working for a long time to develop our fund pricing structure in preparation for the RDR.”
“We hope that the vast majority of 3rd party advised platforms will adopt this new share class for the post RDR marketplace making it easier for customers to assess the relative merits of the various services they’re receiving. We continue to assess the requirements for RDR and expect to make some further announcements on new share classes in due course.”
