Architas bolsters investment team

London-based AXA Group’s multi-management arm Architas has added two members, Julie Lamirel and Richard Chiang, to its investment team. Both will report to Architas’ CIO Jamie Arguello.

Lamirel will serve as senior investment manager and will be responsible for the firm’s multi-manager portfolios that are marketed in Belgium. Prior to that, Lamirel worked at AXA IM for 11 years, most recently as fund manager of the AXA WF Mix in Perspectives fund.

Chiang has taken on the role of quantitative analyst. He will back and develop the fund and asset class quantitative screening process. Chiang served before as analyst at Standard Chartered Bank he joined in 2014.

Also Architas’ investment analyst Alex Burn has been promoted to the role of investment manager to co-manage the Global Equity Income fund, due to be launched soon.

Burn will also act as co-manager for the multi-asset passive range alongside deputy CIO Sheldon MacDonald and Stephen Allen. It is understood his focus will be on UK portfolios.

Some £21.8bn (€24.4bn) of assets were managed by Architas as of 31 January 2017.
