Aviva Investors’ global products head Soutter exits
Jeremy Soutter, the global head of products at Aviva Investors, has left the firm following a restructure.
Aviva Investors said his responsibilities will be taken on by the product strategy and development teams.
“We are taking a more global approach to product development, in line with the growing needs of our institutional clients. This activity will be managed closely with our product strategy and product development teams and, as a result, Jeremy Soutter is leaving the business,” said a spokesperson for the group.
Soutter’s departure follows that of John Clougherty, the chief executive of Aviva Investors’ funds business, last week after 13 years with the business.
Earlier this year, the group announced plans to close its European equities, emerging market, SRI and global equities desks, with the loss of up to 160 jobs.
John Botham, head of European equities, was made redundant last month along with his two colleagues Rita Dhut and Philip Parker, both fund managers on the institutional side.
Aviva Investors said the restructure was a result of the economic downturn, which had led to reduced investor appetite for risk assets.
The firm later sent out a circular to its clients reassuring them it is still focused on the UK market.
