Barclays Wealth head moves to SEI

Former UK asset management head at Barclays Wealth David Simpson has moved to wealth management outsourcing firm SEI.

Simpson has been appointed as senior business development director at SEI Global Wealth Services, which offers infrastructure, operations and administrative support to wealth managers.

In his former role at Barclays Wealth, he led the management and strategic development of its retail investment platform services in the UK and Europe.

He has been in financial services for over 22 years, with a focus on business and technology-based strategic change.

For SEI, the move fits in with wider expansion plans, in response to significant interest from global banks, insurance companies, and large wealth managers, it claims.

SEI’s core service, the Global Wealth Platform, currently supports trading and transactions on 100 stock exchanges in 53 countries and 31 currencies.
