Barings appoints head of Equities

Baring Asset Management has announced the appointment of Jean-Louis Scandella as head of Equities, based in London and starting 2 June.

Scandella will report to Marino Valensise, CEOr, and will be based in London. He will lead Barings’ equity teams, based in London and Hong Kong. He will also be a member of the Investment Committee and Chair of the Global Sector Teams.

Scandella joins Barings from the highly regarded French equity boutique Comgest, where he was part of their leadership team.

Barings has £35.4bn of AUM of which £11.2bn in equities as at 31 March 2014.
