BNP Paribas IP to build new Global Equity capability

BNP Paribas Investment Partners (BNPP IP) has appointed four senior global equity managers “to build a new institutional Global Equity capability”.

Announced on 16 February, Jonathan Barnett, James Mann and Steward Lambert joined the team, led by Simon Roberts and based in London.

Before joining BNPP IP, Roberts held senior positions at Fidelity, Lazard Asset Management, BlueCrest Capital and NewSmith. He managed UK, European and global funds for institutional and retail clients.

Prior to his move, Barnett managed long-only and absolute return strategies for institutional investors in firms such as Moore Capital, Caxton Associates, Sloane Robinson and NewSmith.

Mann worked with Roberts at NewSmith and BlueCrest Capital. He also held positions at James Capel and Smith New Court/ Merrill Lynch, managing long-only and absolute return strategies for institutional investors.

Lambert, who previously also worked with Mann and Roberts at BlueCrest Capital, built his career at Balyasny Asset Management, Goldman Sachs Assset Management, Hill Samuel Asset Management and NewSmith.

David Kiddie, CEO of Institutional Business at BNPP IP, commented: “Global equity expertise is key in the current environment and a clear priority for BNPP IP.”
