DefaqtoMatrix web-based research tool launched for providers
Defaqto, the UK-based financial research company, has launched DefaqtoMatrix, a tool for fund manufacturers to access whole of market data on their own and others’ products.
Essentially a market intelligence tool, DefaqtoMatrix draws on the the company’s data on some 30,000 products across banking, life, pensions, investments and general insurance in the UK market.
It is intended to give providers MI on their own products in relation to competitors, from the stages of design through to marketing. Providers should be able to use the data to better position their own products in the market, Defaqto said.
The launch of DefaqtoMatrix comes after research into the type of MI that providers said they required to better compete in the financial sector. Access to historical market data and information on how products changed over time were to areas of particular interest, the research showed.
Key features include:
– Reports on product changes; enabling firms to see what new products have been launched or whether any features have changed in competitors’ products
– Access to historical product data; allowing providers to assess how a particular sector or product type has changed over time
– The ability to compare the features of one product against another; facilitating analysis of a product’s key strengths or weaknesses in relation to a competitor’s
