Diam International expands EMEA team

Diam International, the UK subsidiary of Asian asset manager Diam, has appointed Frederic de Merode as director, business development.

Based in London, he will be responsible for managing client relationships and further promoting Diam’s asset management capabilities, specifically its Japanese and Asian investment strategies, to institutional clients across EMEA.

De Merode was most recently director of Global Client Solutions and Global Financial Institutions at Aviva Investors.

Formerly, he was a senior consultant at Elston Consulting and director of International Accounts at MFS International.

He also worked at the European business development of Liontrust Asset Management, prior to which he was also an investment director and product specialist for Fidelity International.

Diam had over $148bn in assets under management globally as of 31 March 2016.

Adrien Paredes-Vanheule is deputy editor and French-Speaking Europe Correspondent for InvestmentEurope, covering France, Belgium, Geneva and Monaco. Prior to joining InvestmentEurope, he spent almost five years writing for various publications in Monaco, primarily as a criminal and financial court reporter. Before that, he worked for newspapers and radio stations in France, in particular in Lyon.
