Eaton Vance bolsters global high yield team

Eaton Vance Management (International),  a branch of Eaton Vance Management, has hired Hari Thirumalai as senior analyst in its global high yield team in London.

Thirumalai is to support the construction of Eaton Vance’s European leveraged credit capabilities in the aftermath of the launch last month of the Eaton Vance (Ireland) Multi-Asset Credit fund.

Thirumalai will report to Jeffrey Mueller, global high yield portfolio manager, which led the development of the company’s European corporate credit operations.

He joins from BTG Pactual, where he spent over three years as a credit analyst specialising in high yield. He also worked for Brummer & Partners Asia in Singapore, where he developed analytical expertise in sovereign, investment grade, high yield and special situations investments across Asia.

Formerly, Thirumalai worked for UBS AG in London, as a senior credit strategist and for Bank of America Merrill Lynch in global proprietary trading.

Eaton Vance and its affiliates had $325.6bn (€296bn) in assets under management as of 30 June 2016.
