F&C appoints Pearce as chair of its new responsible investment advisory council

F&C Investments announced the appointment of Howard Pearce as chair of its new Responsible Investment Advisory Council, effective January 1, 2015.

The company confirmed a re-launch of its Responsible Investment capability in June of this year. This includes a broad range of funds, from ethically-screened UK and global equity offerings through to thematic funds, screened fixed income and sustainability-orientated emerging market equities.

This fund range will be supported by the new and independent F&C Responsible Investment Advisory Council. The council will focus on providing advice on ethical and sustainability criteria.

Prior to joining F&C Pearce was head of Pension Fund Management for the Environment Agency Pension Fund (EAPF) and a member and principal advisor to its Pensions Committee.

“Howard has a long and established career advising and leading on responsible investment and environmental issues,” said Vicki Bakhshi, head of F&C Investments’ Governance & Sustainable Investment team. “As chair of the council, Howard’s experience and insight will be vital to its work advising on ethical and sustainability criteri,” she added.
